2004 Koll Duo Glide "Silverburst"

2,800.00

The early 2000's were a special period for Koll Guitars, as Saul was devoting himself full-time to making instruments and experimenting with materials and process. Some very special guitars came out of this era, and this is definitely one of them.

Duo Glide serial number 04198 has a chambered alder body and neck, and a maple top with a slight arm contour. Silverburst nitro finish, with burst back and neck as well. Two Lollar Imperial humbuckers, Wilkinson wrap bridge. Ebony fretboard, 1 11/16th nut width, neck carve is a comfortable slim C. Black half-heart pickguard. Glide headstock shape with Macassar ebony veneer, pearl Koll logo inlay, and “Portland, Oregon” engraved truss rod cover, Sperzel tuners. This guitar has been played over the years, and shows some basic playwear. The pickup covers show scratching and finish wear, and there are various small finish nicks and scratches here and there, but nothing major.

The semi-hollow alder body means this guitar is very light (6lbs 7oz), resonant, and versatile tonally. It can scream with its potent pair of humbuckers, but can also sound very dark and warm if desired. Koll fans may remember this guitar being played by Mary Timony last year, she was using it while we were making her custom. Currently strung with ultra-lights. Original TKL hardshell case, new Koll strap and case candy.
